This video answers the question from a viewer who asks: “Hi Brandon, I’m currently doing 72-hour prolonged fasting, in full blown ketosis, and then do Carnivore refeeds, no carbs. I eat mostly fat protein and then doing more 72 hour fasting. I have a haital hernia and it’s already caused me two blockages and incarcerations so I’m very serious about getting my weight down and not doing any processed foods, carbs and bad fats, I want to get healthy and my BMI under 30 so I can get my surgery end of the year or earlier. What would you suggest as I’ve heard that with prolonged fasting after a few weeks or months will draw from lean muscle tissue for gluconeogenesis and I’d rather it be from a carnivorous refeed then my own lean tissue. Any advice would be much appreciated. I subscribed. I loved this video.”
